[News] EA Is Giving Away Free Games, What?

The publisher and game developer, EA is stopping disc based sales on their online platform, Origin. I wasn’t even aware they were still sending out disc based games, haha. At any rate on April first they are stopping this service and switching to a totally digital platform.
EA was named the worst company of 2013 after the Simcity fiasco and because of the amount of DLC they released that should have been part of the main games for games such as Battlefield 3 and Sims 3, and a few other games. And who can forget the Simcity game they released that had online DRM (just re-going over what the fiasco was here) and was unplayable for DAYS until someone developed an offline crack for the game, which then people flocked to even though EA was releasing statements saying that the game could NOT be played offline, even though it blatantly was being played offline by people at this point. (A crack is an executable file or .exe that you can run on your computer that runs a game say, without an internet connection, bypassing DRM or other things such as keys. These are highly illegal and should not be looked into.) They seem to have dodged the bullet this year in 2014, as it seems TWC (Time Warner Cable) is the most likely candidate for worst company of 2014. However that’s neither here nor there.
Anyway the point of this article is that EA is giving away free games on Origin. They started a promotion called ‘On The House’, where EA gives away free games at ANY time, so you have to keep a watchful eye. I’m sure RSS feeds will be full up with free video games after a while. Free PC games are pretty much unheard of usually so it’s pretty cool of them to be doing this and it’s definitely a step up for them to be giving away free games. Right now they are giving away Dead Space as part of the promotion.
Dead Space is a horror/action game based on a mining ship in the future. That’s all I’m gonna say. Remember to select what platform you want it on!

Don’t forget to sign up for Amazon Prime! Only $99 per year, that’s less than $10 a month! Amazon Prime is a program that many items on Amazon use for free shipping, no matter the cost of the item. Just go to the link at the top left that says “Try Prime”!
